Capturing tropical birds by boat

A short winter break in warm Florida weather gave us a chance to exercise our bikes, our kayak, and our camera gear. Although we don’t really consider ourselves bird watchers, we do love photographing wildlife and had some great opportunities to see waterfowl in the Keys, the Everglades, and Gulf Coast. All of the images below were shot with a Nikkor 300 mm lens from our kayak in and near Sarasota Bay.
