Vanscape Video #4: The road to Arches
The Silver Box wore its cinematographer hat one last time when we drove to Arches National Park in late August. I finally got around to editing a 7½ -minute movie that begins on Highway 128 as it weaves toward Moab through a canyon carved by the Colorado River. The second part of the video (just as the music changes) follows the only road through Arches all the way to its last trailhead at Devil’s Garden. If you’ve visited Arches, you may recognize scenes in my photos from hikes through Devil’s Garden and to Delicate Arch (see this gallery). Even if you haven’t been there, the dramatic red sandstone landscape of this part of eastern Utah may still look familiar -- it’s been the backdrop for many movies and TV commercials. (More about my video process in this blog post.)
